The representative of Pakistan, China, the United States and Afghanistan will discuss peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan. Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that reconciliation process in Afghanistan needs to be given a fair chance and more time. He said that Pakistan and the United States have been actively engaged in quadrilateral group on Afghanistan. “The Afghan problem could not be resolved through military means,” he added. An Afghan official involved in the dialogues said that tough measures against the Taliban are included in the agenda of the meeting. The official said that the Taliban have continued to launch attacks in Afghanistan and are persistently refusing to join talks. Afghan Ambassador in Pakistan said that resumption of dialogue with the Taliban is the story of the past and now the Quadrilateral talks will discuss serious offensive against Taliban. On the other hand, Taliban spokesman Zabeehullah Mujahid said that they will not withdraw the conditions of Sharia law and withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan.
