Rain and drizzle lash most parts of country

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Scattered rain continues to lash most parts of the country including federal capital, Peshawar and other areas on Tuesday. Intermittent rain is going on in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Peshawar, Hazara region, Mardan, Malakand, Dir, Chitral, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan which made the weather further cold and ended the prolonged dry spell. The main hilly areas are also receiving snowfall, while dense fog is reported at some places on Motorway M-3 and M-4 and the National Highway. Dense foggy conditions are likely to continue over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hours. Earlier, the first winter rain in different parts of the country yesterday (Tuesday) provided relief from the dry chilly, smoggy weather besides giving an opportunity to the residents to enjoy the scenic beauty. After a long dry spell, a westerly wave is approaching upper parts of the country today, which will cause rain and snowfall. The rain spell has started in upper parts of the country including areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Punjab and snowfall has begun in upper areas of the country including Chitral and Lowari Top Upper. The residents of different parts of the country including Lahore, Islamabad and Faisalabad welcomed its winter showers bringing down the temperature and providing relief from the foggy weather of the past few days. Snowfall continues to occur on the mountainous areas including Malam Jabba, Ayubia and Kalam, while heavy rainfall is reported in Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Neelum, Hattian and Rawalkot.
