LAHORE (92 News) – At least five people including three children were killed in rain related incidents in the provincial capital on Sunday. As per details, heavy downpour wreaked havoc in Lahore, killing five people including three children and injuring several others. The rain lashed city, severely affecting road, rail, inconveniencing daily commuters barely a week after the monsoon set in the region. Rain lashed different towns and cities of the Punjab including Lahore on late on Saturday. Rain with thick clouds took the city by surprise in the morning when weather turned pleasant. In Lahore, overcast conditions, strong winds and scattered rains caused decrease in the mercury level, making weather pleasant. Rain-thundershower with windstorms/gusty winds occurred at few places of Punjab. Heavy rain was reported in Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Sheikhupura in Punjab after which lowland areas completely submerged under rain water. Several feeders also tripped across the province, leaving people without electricity for several hours. On the other hand, people flocked to the seashore as the weather turned pleasant in Karachi. Rain-thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls is expected at a number of places in Khyber Pukhtunkwa, FATA, Islamabad, Upper Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir and at isolated places in South Punjab during next twelve hours. Heavy downpour may generate Flooding and landslides in vulnerable areas of Upper Khyber Pukhtunkwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Northeast Punjab and Kashmir.
