Rains wreak havoc in Karachi but PM is not seen anywhere: Shehbaz

LAHORE (92 News) – Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President and Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has said that the rains wrecked havoc in the city of light but Prime minister Imran Khan is not seen anywhere. Speaking to the journalists, Shahbaz Sharif said that that the federation should have taken immediate steps in collaboration with the stakeholders. He is upset with their activities, adding that the opposition is being pushed to wall. The opposition leader further said that political situation was also discussed in the meeting with Asif Ali Zardari. Expressing regret over loss caused by rains in Khyber Pahtunkhwa, he demanded immediate steps for formulation of a comprehensive relief plan. After his return from rain hit Karachi, the PML-N president said that the negligence of the federal and provincial governments during the heavy rains is reprehensible. Earlier, after his arrival in Karachi, Shehbaz Sharif has asked that teh federal government should tell about worth of billions funds for the Karachi allocated for Sindh province. Speaking to the journalists, the PML-N president said that where are the funds which the federal government promised to allocate for Karachi. He advised the political parties to not do politics on Karachi’s devastated situation after torrential rains. “Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan should sit with the provincial government during his visit to Karachi and compensate the loss of people during heavy rains,” Shehbaz Sharif maintained. The PML-N president has reached Karachi on a day-long visit to express solidarity with the victims of rain-hit areas. He met people living in Malir and heard their problems. It has been learnt that the PML-N delegation led by Shehbaz Sharif has been scheduled to meet Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari at the Bilawal House. The meeting between the top leadership of both opposition parties will be held at 4:00pm during which current political situation in the country will come into discussion. Shehbaz Sharif will also meet Edhi Foundation chief Faisal Edhi and visit the party’s Nazimabad office during his stay in the city.
