ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Rallies were taken out across the country to express solidarity with Kashmiris and condemn the Indian move to scrap the special status for Occupied Kashmir. In Islamabad, people from several political parties and civil society staged a demonstration outside Indian Embassy. Rallies were taken out in Mirpur, Kotli, Bahwalpur, Tando Allahyar, Badin, Bahwalnagar, Chaman, Gwadar, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Muzaffargarh, Bhakkar, Dadu and Larkana. In Faisalabad, students formed a human chain to express solidarity with the Kashmiris. Students and teachers of University of Faisalabad took out a rally to condemn Indian barbarism in Occupied Kashmir Valley.
Pakistan rejects Indian govt announcement regarding Occupied Kashmir
Meanwhile, Pakistan has strongly condemned and rejected the announcements made today by the Indian government regarding the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement issued on Monday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr. Muhammad Faisal said the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory. He said no unilateral step by the Indian government can change this disputed status, as enshrined in the United Nations Security Council resolutions. Nor will this ever be acceptable to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan. The spokesperson said as the party to this international dispute, Pakistan will exercise all possible options to counter the illegal steps. He said Pakistan reaffirms its abiding commitment to the Kashmir cause and its political, diplomatic and moral support to the people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir for realization of their inalienable right to self-determination.
