Ramazan Sugar Mills reference to be sent to NAB Headquarters for approval

LAHORE (92 News) – The Lahore DG NAB has ordered to send the Ramazan Sugar Mills reference to the headquarters for final approval. The decision was made during a meeting of the NAB Executive Board on Friday. Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz have been nominated in the reference. The board also approved a reference against Fawad Hassan Fawad in the assets beyond income case. Meanwhile, investigations into embezzlement of Rs 11 billion against Ali Jahangir Siddiqui are also underway. NAB claims that Shehbaz Sharif, being chief minister of Punjab, had issued a directive for the construction of a drain in Chiniot district primarily to benefit the sugar mills owned by his sons. It said Rs200 million was spent for this purpose from public money. The NAB had already filed a reference against Shehbaz Sharif and others in the Ashiyana-e-Iqbal Housing Scheme scam.
