Rana Sanaullah declared guilty in drug smuggling case

LAHORE (92 News) – After completing investigation against Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) declared him as guilty in the drug smuggling case. According to the reports, the challan regarding 15kg drugs against former Punjab law minister has been presented in the court. Later, the court adjourned the case till July 30 and summoned Rana Sanaullah in next hearing. It is pertinent to mention here that the FIR against the PML-N leader was lodged under the sections of 9C, 15 and 17. The security agency had also registered nine cases against four front men of Rana Sanaullah in connection with the matter. A day earlier, a sessions court in Lahore has dismissed plea seeking permission for homemade food for PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah at camp jail. During the hearing, the session court directed Rana Sanaullah’s lawyer to contact with jail superintendent and follow proper forum in this regard. The jail authorities also submitted report and claimed that the former law minister is being provided proper food as per his health. Earlier, the judicial magistrate’s court sent Rana Sanaullah to jail on 14-day judicial remand. The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had presented the former Punjab law minister before judicial magistrate Ahmad Waqas in Lahore. The ANF and other prosecutors were present in the court where security was beefed up and heavy contingents of police were deployed. The court sent Rana Sanaullah to the Camp Jail, Lahore on 14 day remand. “This is injustice,” Rana Sanaullah said when the journalists asked about the arrest. “An unjust government will not be able to last long.” On July 1, the ANF Lahore arrested PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah near Sukheke. He has been shifted to ANF Cantonment Office for interrogation. His medical examination was conducted in the ANF custody. ANF Commander Brig Khalid Mahmood supervised the arrest.
