LAHORE (92 News) – Son-in-law of former Law Minister of Punjab Rana Sanaullah was taken into custody by police officials in earlier cases registered against him on Friday. Rana Sana Ullah’s son-in-law Shehryar was arrested during the appearance of father-in-law. He came to the court for meeting with Rana Sanaullah. It was reported that the case was registered against Shehryar in the vicinity of Faisalabad. On the other hand, an Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) court extended judicial remand of PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah as of August 24 in a narcotics recovery case. Sanaullah was produced before the court in connection with his alleged involvement in a narcotics smuggling case. During the hearing, the court ordered to present CCTV footage in next hearing. Later the judge extended his 15-days physical remand. In the previous hearing, the PML-N leader requested the judge for provision of domestic meal in jail upon which the court directed Rana Sanaullah to file an application in this regard. PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif also reached the court’s premises to meet and inquire after Rana Sanaullah. Earlier, the judicial magistrate’s court sent Rana Sanaullah to jail on 14-day judicial remand. The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had presented the former Punjab law minister before judicial magistrate Ahmad Waqas in Lahore. The ANF and other prosecutors were present in the court where security was beefed up and heavy contingents of police were deployed. The court sent Rana Sanaullah to the Camp Jail, Lahore on 14 day remand. “This is injustice,” Rana Sanaullah said when the journalists asked about the arrest. “An unjust government will not be able to last long.” On July 1, the ANF Lahore arrested PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah near Sukheke. He has been shifted to ANF Cantonment Office for interrogation. His medical examination was conducted in the ANF custody. ANF Commander Brig Khalid Mahmood supervised the arrest.
