Rana Shamim's tape was not based on facts, says Shah Mahmood Qureshi

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that the tape of Gilgit Baltistan former chief judge Rana Shamim was not based on facts.

Expressing his views in the National Assembly on Friday, he said that the accountability judge Arshad Malik was blackmailed. "In the past, the attacks on the Supreme Court of Pakistan have not been fruitful," he added.

The minister said that the government had made difficult decisions and swallowed a bitter pill during the last few years. "We have brought the GDP growth rate at 5%. Even the costly Urea is cheaper that the fertilizer's rate in the international market," he maintained.

He said that the government is not facing the challenge of the opposition, but inflation. "In Europe, the gas price has increased by 70 percent. We import the POL products. The increased in the rates of POL products will affect Pakistan as well," he added.

During the speech of Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the opposition members raised a hue and cry.
