Former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar terms media reports about him unfounded, baseless

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Former chief justice Saqib Nisar has termed the media reports about him unfounded and baseless, saying that he had not directed the subordinate judges.

Talking to 92 News, former chief justice Saqib Nisar said that what answer he should give to the white lie of former chief justice Gilgit-Baltistan Rana Shamim who was asking extension in his post. "However, I did not accept his request."

Saqib NIsar said that Rana Shamim had once complained about his refusal to the extention.

He said that Gilgit-Baltistan former chief justice Rana Shamim had told a white lie. "Rana Shamim had sought extension in his post, which I had not accepted," he maintained.

On the other hand, Gilgit-Baltistan former chief justice Rana Shamim termed the statement of Saqib Nisar as wrong. "Saqib Nisar had no power to grant me extension," he added.

On the other hand, the Islamabad High Court has taken notice of the allegations levelled by Rana Shamim for alleged involvement of a judge of the High Court.
