KARACHI (92 News) – Interior Minister Ch Nisar has said that Rangers’ role is very important for peace in Karachi. Talking to the media on Wednesday, he hoped that the Sindh Assembly would extend the deployment of the Rangers before the expiry of its period. The minister said that the Rangers were working within their limits. “I discussed the Rangers’ powers twice with the Sindh chief minister,” he added. Expressing concern over the statements of politicians about the Rangers, he said: “The statements show as if the Rangers are not our force, but they are hired one.” He said that the Rangers’ powers are not in violation of the law or constitution. The minister said that the Rangers were performing their duty, putting their lives at risk. “The federal government has decided to deploy the Rangers for Youm-e-Ali (RA) for 24 hours,” he added. About the Imran Farooq murder case, he said that it is a very sensitive case. “The London police are investigating the case along with our JIT.” About the money laundering case, he said that they had written a letter to Britain. “We are waiting for the reply to a letter written to the British government about the BBC report,” he said.
