Minor girl's rapist-cum-murderers among four executed in jails in Punjab

SIALKOT/FAISALABAD/SAHIWAL (92 New) –  Two convicted rapist-cum-murderers of a minor girl were among four hanged till death on Tuesday in different cities of the Punjab. As per reports, Abid Maqsood and Sanaullah were hanged in Sialkot jail. The two were convicted of raping and murdering a minor. Also, one convict each in Sahiwal and Faisalabad were sent to the gallows for the crime of murder. The total number of those executed following the lifting of the country’s self-imposed moratorium on the death penalty reached over 150. Pakistan lifted in December last year in the wake of Taliban attack at a school in Peshawar in which 150 people, mostly school children, were killed.
