RAWALPINDI (92 News) - Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha announced to resign over alleged rigging in the elections on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference at Cricket Stadium, he said that the candidates winning by the margin of 70,000 votes were forcibly defeated by putting fake stamps.

"I accept the responsibility of rigging in Rawalpindi. I am ready to face the sentence for the crime I committed. My elders had created Pakistan and I cannot support those who are breaking it," he maintained.

The Rawalpindi commissioner said that the people under him did not want to do this work. "I openly apologize for my crime."

He also demanded that the other people involved in this heinous crime should also be punished. "I had no pressure from above. We managed to defeat the winners. The Army had rightly stopped the elections. There is no need to re-conduct the election. The situation will clear if all Form 45 are collected," he added.
