RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Rawalpindi Corps Commander Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar visited various sectors on Line of Control (LoC) on Tuesday. According to the Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR), General Bilal Akbar visited the Nekrun and Shahkot Sectors at LoC. He reviewed operational readiness of the deployed troops at forward locations. Earlier, Rawalpindi Corps Commander Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar visited various sectors on Line of Control (LoC). Afghanistan’s peace in interest of Pakistan: DG ISPR
On Jan 27, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor has said that peace in Afghanistan is in the interest of Pakistan. Major General Asif Ghafoor along with a group of foreign journalists visited different areas of North Waziristan and interacted with the local people.
Asif Ghafoor said that a peaceful North Waziristan was heading towards progress and prosperity. He told the journalists that cross-border attacks had been stopped due to Pak-Afghan border fencing.
The ISPR director general said that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) desired to secure the border. He mentioned that this area is part of Pakistan now which was considered as ‘Tribal Area’ from 70 years.
He said that tribal districts would be brought at par with other developed areas of the country and added that they would be given equal rights. It was the first direct interaction of the media with local people, who while standing in Miranshah Bazar, talked to reporters about improved peace situation and administrative issues in the area. They lauded Pakistan Army for its efforts in restoring peace and development. The media representatives appreciated security forces for undertaking the difficult task of fencing country’s border with Afghanistan.
