The head of NCOC and Planning Minister Asad Umar chaired a session of the NCOC where provincial chief secretaries and officials of the health ministry briefed the participants via video link regarding the government steps and COVID-19 situation.

In continuation of its previous warnings over the sharp increase in coronavirus cases, the NCOC noted that the average positivity ratio in the last four days was 40% higher than what was being recorded earlier.

During the morning session of the NCOC, health officials briefed the forum about the rising positivity ratio, increase in hospital admissions and the spike in the number of deaths.

“Muzaffarabad, Hyderabad, Karachi and Gilgit have higher positivity ratio along with other areas across the country,” observed the NCOC.
