Relations with Pakistan very high on China's agenda: President Xi
ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chinese President Xi on sidelines of the SCO summit in Ufa on Friday.
During a meeing with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Ufa, the Chinese President said relations with Pakistan are very high on China's agenda. "China wants to maintain close ties with Pakistan and looking forward to President Mamnoon's upcoming visit to China," he said, while inviting the prime minister to attend the SCO meeting taking place in Beijing this year.
In his opening remarks Prime Minister Muhammad awaz Sharif said friendship with China is a cornerstone of our foreign policy.
China and Pakistan enjoy historic relations and in recent times the economic relations between the two countries have reached new heights with the Chinese commitment of investing forty-six billion dollars in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister thanked President Xi for the support China has extended to Pakistan in the country's effort to become a full member of the SCO. He appreciated personal commitment of the Chinese leader to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
