LAHORE (92 News) – An accountability court extended the remand of Punjab University former vice-chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran and other accused until November 20. The NAB had arrested Dr Mujahid Kamran and other professors on the charge of making illegal appointments and misusing their powers. The counsel for Mujahid Kamran accused the NAB of showing discriminatory attitude as his client is allowed a meeting with him in a week while other accused can meet their lawyers several times. The NAB prosecutor contended that Mujahid Kamran had made illegal appointments in the university during nine years. The accountability court judge remarked that there is need to change the NAB laws in vogue since long. On October 23, the court had sent the accused to jail. The NAB executive board had approved an inquiry against Dr Mujahid Kamran. He had appointed his wife Shazia Qureshi as the PU Law College principal.
