Renowned lawyer and PPP founder Abdul Hafeez Pirzada passes away in London

LONDON (92 News) – Renowned lawyer and founder of Pakistan People’s Party Barrister Abdul Hafeez Pirzada has passed away in a London hospital in the wee hours of Wednesday. Born in 1941, Hafeez Pirzada was elected member of the National Assembly in 1970 and became law minister in late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s cabinet. He played an important role in formulating the 1973 constitution. Barrister Hafeez Pirzada represented former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto as a defence lawyer. Recently, Abdul Hafeez Pirzada represented the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the famous election rigging case. The 80 years old renowned lawyer was hospitalised in London. Family sources said that it will take three days to bring back his body from Britain.
