Renowned novelist and former MNA Bushra Rehman passes away aged 78

LAHORE (92 News) – Renowned novelist and former MNA Bushra Rehman passed away at the age of 78 on Monday.

Her funeral will be held after Asr prayers at New Garden Town. She was born on August 29, 1944.

Bushra Rehman was elected as MPA on a reserved seat for women in the 1985 general election. She was re-elected as MPA on a reserved seat for women in the 1988 general election.

She was elected MNA as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) on a seat reserved for women from Punjab in the 2002 general election. She also served as MNA of the PML-Q on a seat reserved for women in 2008.

Her novels include Allah Mian Ji, Bahisht, Barah-e-Raast, But Shikan, Chaand Say, Na Khelo, Chara Gar, Chup, Ek Aawara Ki Khatir, Khubsurat, Kis Morr Par Milay Ho, Laazawal, Lala Sehrai, Lagan, Pyaasi, Sharmeely, Tere Sung Dar Ki Talaash Thi, Tuk Tuk Deedam Tokyo.
