Renowned Pakistani actor Moammar Rana joins PPP

LAHORE (92 News) – Pakistan’s renowned film and television actor Moammar Rana has joined the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) on Sunday. Following his meeting with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Lahore’s Bilawal House, during the meeting, Moammar Rana announced to join the party. The journey of Rana in Lollywood spans over 23 years so far. The veteran actor has worked in numerous Pakistani movies, TV serials and two Bollywood films as well. In the tweet of PPP leader Usman Rana said that Bilawal Bhuttoo has gripped Punjab and renowned actor personalities will join the PPP. He also said in his tweet that many political families from the Punjab are in contacts with the PPP provincial leadership and they would join the PPP in coming days.   In June last year, Moammar Rana appeared in “Azaadi”. The film revolved around a Kashmiri family and its struggle for self-determination and independence in Indian-occupied valley, wherein Moammar Rana played a role of an educated Kashmiri who chooses fighting for Kashmir’s freedom over love, career and family. He is also set to make his debut as film director for the film Sikander which has been in the making since 2015. The Lollywood star belongs to a cricketing dynasty: his father Shafqat Rana has played Test cricket for Pakistan and later served as national selector twice, his uncle Azmat Rana (died in 2015) played one Test, another uncle, Shakoor Rana (died in 2001), was a well-known umpire who’s two sons Mansoor and Maqsood played a few one-day internationals, while yet another uncle, Sultan Rana played first-class cricket before becoming a cricket administrator.
