Renowned Radio and TV compere Tariq Aziz passes away in Lahore

LAHORE (92 News) – Renowned compere Tariq Aziz passed away in Lahore on Wednesday. A large number of people from different walks of life attended his funeral. Later, he was laid to rest in a local graveyard. His family said apparently he had no illness. He was taken to hospital for throat problem where he died. He was born in Jalandhar on April 28, 1936. His family migrated to Sahiwal, Pakistan in 1947. He started his professional career from Radio Pakistan in Lahore. He was host of the renowned programme ‘Nelaam Ghar’ which took his popularity to new heights. His first programme ‘Bazm-e-Tariq Aziz’ was started in 1974. His dialogues ‘Daikhti Ankhon Aur Suntay Kanon Ko Tariq Aziz Ka Salam’ and “Yeh Phool Aur Tohfay Aap Ke Sath Jayen Gaay’ gained much popularity among the masses. Tariq Aziz also performed in different films. His first film was ‘Insaniyat’ which was released in 1967. He also remained an MNA from 1997-1999. He was conferred ‘Pride of Performance’ for his excellent services in 1992.
