ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Renowned Urdu poet Ahmad Faraz was remembered on his 13th death anniversary on Wednesday.

Ahmad Faraz was known as one of the best modern Urdu poets of the last century. He was born in Kohat and moved to Peshawar with his family. He studied in famous Edwards College, Peshawar and received Masters in Urdu and Persian from Peshawar University.

He was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Imtiaz and after his death Hilal-e-Pakistan by the Government of Pakistan. He died in Islamabad on 25 August 2008.

Ahmad Faraz has been compared with Faiz Ahmad Faiz, holds a unique position as one of the best poets of current times, with a fine but simple style of writing. Even common people can easily understand his poetry.
