LAHORE (92 News) – Renowned novelist, playwright and short story writer Bano Qudsia passed away in Lahore on Saturday. She was 88. She was widow of famous fiction writer Ashfaq Ahmed. She was admitted to a private hospital and shifted to CCU on January 26. She was diabetic and died of cardiac arrest at 5:30pm. She wrote several immortal novels, including Raja Gidh. Aseer said that his mother was not only a great mother, but a great woman as well. Family sources said that her funeral will be held at D Block, Model Town Ground at 3pm on Sunday. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has expressed deep condolences on the sad demise of prominent Urdu writer Bano Qudsia. He stated that Bano Qudsia was an asset of Pakistan and she had innumerable services in the field of Urdu literature. Her demise has left a huge space in the literary field and her writings would be remembered for generations to come, stated the PM. "The PM has prayed for blessing of the departed soul and grant of patience to the bereaved family," he said. Meanwhile, President Mamnoon Hussain, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz and Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri Sharif have expressed sorrow over the sad demise.
