Report on National Action Plan presented in Supreme Court
July 22, 2015
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Wednesday has shown discontentment over the performance of the National Counter-Terrorism Authority (NACTA) after a report filed was filed by the government regarding progress of the National Action Plan (NAP). A two-member bench headed by Justice Khawaja heard the case regarding notice. Justice Khawaja remarked that the government had approved establishment of NACTA on December 24 2014, questioning the eight month delay in its establishment and working ."The NAP’s purpose was to protect the state of war imposed by non-state actors and JID was part of the plan," he said. "The file should be shelved if the government is not interested as there is no explanation for an eight-month delay."
