Boats capsize tragedy: Operation underway to find bodies in Thattha

THATTHA (92 News) – The rescue operation to retrieve those who drowned yesterday after two boats capsized following a collision in the sea near Bohara, Thattha is underway on the second consecutive day. The operation had to be stopped due to darkness last night but resumed early morning today. The divers of Pakistan Navy, Edhi, Rangers and Police personnel were taking part in the rescue operation. Earlier, at least 22 people were killed and more than several others were still missing after two passenger boats collided in the sea off Thatta. The boats, carrying more than 60 people in total, were ferrying passengers to visit a popular Sufi Muslim shrine in Sindh when they collided and overturned in heavy winds near the ancient city of Thatta. The 22 killed included women and children, while 20 others were pulled from the sea alive. The devotees hailed from Karachi’s different areas, including Ibrahim Hyderi, Main Goth and Thattha.
