February 15, 2021

PESHAWAR (92 News) - The sources said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to replace some of its Senate candidates due to the reservations from party leaderships.

According to the sources, the PTI is likely to take back the Senate tickets from Faisal Vawda and Saifullah Abro. This step is being taken for criticism from its key leaders from three zones of rural Sindh.

It was also reported that two changes are expected from the KP as the party has decided to withdraw a Senate ticket from Faisal Saleem, who would be replaced by Liaqat Khan Tarqai, who is set to retire as Senator in March this year.

Besides this, the sources privy to the matter said that the PTI has also decided to replace Naji Ullah Khattak, who would be replaced by Incharge of the KP CM complaint cell, Dilroz Khan. Dilroz Khan has submitted his nomination papers from a technocrat seat in the province.

A meeting of the parliamentary board of the PTI was chaired by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan in Islamabad on February 13, where he gave a nod to the party’s candidates for Senate elections.

During the meeting, the prime minister also said that the tickets will be awarded on the base of merit. He also said that he respected desires of the party workers.  Imran Khan also made reconciliation between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and former senior minister Mohammad Atif Khan.
