Residents resist anti-encroachment operation in Karachi, area turns into battlefield

KARACHI (92 News) – The Hussain Hazar Goth area of Karachi turned into a battlefield as residents strongly protested against the anto-encroachment operation on Tuesday.   The enraged protesters fought with the anti-encroachment team, baton charged them, held them hostage and burnt tyres.   The operation to release the land of Circular Railway was stopped before it even began.   The residents were of the view that they have been living here for a long time after completing the legal formalities. They said that the provincial government would not be allowed to exploit us.   The anti-encroachment team postponed the operation on the court’s stay order.
