ISLAMABAD (92 News) - A meeting between National Assembly Speaker Raja Parvez Ashraf and the PTI delegation over the resignations issue ended inconclusively on Thursday.

During the meeting, Raja Parvez Ashraf refused to accept collective resignations, saying that the resignations will be accepted one by one.

He said that the decisions on the resignations will be made according to the constitution and assembly regulations. "We will assure that no MNA is under pressure. The hand-written resignations will be accepted first," he added.

He, however, termed the meeting pleasant.

NA Speaker Raja Parvez Ashraf once again invited the PTI to return to the assembly, saying that reconciliation is the need of hour. He said that some PTI members had moved court and not tendered resignation, while some have sent the leave application.

Talking to the media after the meeting, PTI leader Asad Qaisar said that they had tendered the collective resignations to pay the way for the general elections, not for anyone's entertainment.

On the other hand, PTI chairman Imran Khan has summoned a meeting of the senior leadership at Zaman Park. During the meeting, matter pertaining to resignations and vote of confidence will be discussed.
