Resolution of Kashmir issue inevitable for peace in region: FM

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Minister for Foreign Affairs (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Thursday that the resolution of Kashmir issue in the light of UN resolutions is inevitable for peace and stability in the region. He was talking to a 14-member delegation of parliamentary leaders of Azad Kashmir led by AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider in Islamabad today. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir have gone up after the Pulwama incident, which is condemnable. The delegation expressed concerns over continued Indian ceasefire violations on the Line of Control and the Working Boundary. It thanked Shah Mehmood Qureshi for highlighting the IHK issue and Indian oppression against innocent Kashmiris at international forums. Former AJK president Sardar Attique Ahmed, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, Ghulam Qadir and Abdur Rasheed were also present in the meeting.
Fawad urges India to hold plebiscite in Occupied Kashmir
On Mar 11, Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry urged India to hold plebiscite inIHK. The information minister took his twitter and he said that 700,000 Indian soldiers had been deployed in Occupied Kashmir which means each soldier for ten Kashmiris.
Fawad also said that India doesn’t have courage to hold elections despite spending billions of rupees on security in occupied Kashmir. “When the situation is so abysmal, India should leave the stubbornness and moved towards the plebiscite,” he advised.
Indian troops martyr three Kashmiris in Occupied Kashmir
Earlier, in IHK, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred three Kashmiri youths during a search operation. The youths were killed during a cordon and search operation at Pinglish in Tral area of district. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir chairman Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai and High Court Bar Association have strongly condemned the summoning of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and son of Syed Ali Gilani by NIA to New Delhi, terming the action as a pressure tactics to suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom voice. They said that Mirwaiz was not only a pro-freedom leader but also a religious and spiritual head. The Bar Association pointed out that by summoning Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to New Delhi the NIA was actually going to subject him to humiliation and intimidation only because he was spearheading the Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle for right to self-determination.
