ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Resolutions expressing solidarity with Kashmiris were passed in the National Assembly and the Senate. The resolutions condemned the Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir, demanding the world take notice of the Indian illegal acts. They also demanded that the curfew imposed in the Occupied Valley for six months should be lifted. The resolutions also condemned the Indian act of merging Kashmir with India. They also demanded that the black draconian laws should be withdrawn. In the Senate, Leader of the House Shibli Faraz moved the resolution. The resolution paid rich tributes to the heroism and valor of the people of Occupied Kashmir. The House resolutely rejected the Indian illegal attempt to annex Occupied Kashmir and urged the International community to uphold the United Nations Resolutions that guarantee the Kashmiri people's inalienable right of self-determination. In the Senate, an interesting situation emerged when the deputy chairman adjourned the session without passing the resolution. However, the session was delayed on comprehending the mistake. Kashmir Committee Chairman Fakhar Imam moved the resolution in National Assembly. It expressed unflinching and unwavering support to the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for the right to self-determination. It paid glowing tributes to the sacrifices rendered by the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination. Condemning the illegal actions of India in Occupied Kashmir including detention of Kashmir youth, political leaders and communication blockade, the resolution reaffirmed that Jammu and Kashmir remains internationally recognized dispute that continues to be on the agenda of the UN Security Council since 1948. The House through its resolution also voiced concerns over the presence of 900,000 troops, saying it has turned the valley into an open prison and made it the most militarized zone in the world. It appreciated the role played by world leaders, parliamentarians, international media, human rights organizations particularly China, Malaysia, Turkey and Iran in raising their voice against the Indian atrocities in IOK. The resolution called upon the UN Security Council to enforce a peaceful settlement of Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with its resolutions. Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhary said that the Modi government should not misconstrue their desire for peace as their weakness. “If India wants a war, we also know how to fight. We are fully prepared to respond to any aggression.” He said that Pakistan would give something else, not tea this time. Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari said the prime minister had exposed the Nazi-inspired ideology of RSS. “Prime Minister Imran Khan took the Kashmir issue far away. Our institutions, including the Foreign Office, could not fully support Imran Khan,” she added.
