Riaz Pirzada, others stage walkout of NA over IB report

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Riaz Hussain Pirzada has on Thursday staged a walkout of the National Assembly along with several other lawmakers over their alleged links with terrorists. Addressing on the floor of the lower house of parliament, Riaz Pirzada said that Intelligence Bureau (IB) had filed an application with the PEMRA that the list is fake. He said that he doesn’t trust IB, adding that he cannot fight with the media or agencies but asked why did the Prime Minister House demanded the list. The minister said that he cannot tolerate his disrespect. He demanded the government to launch an investigation into the matter and reveal the name of the person who prepared the report. On the other hand, responding to the concerns of Riaz Hussain Pirzada about media reports allegedly linking certain parliamentarians with defunct outfits, Law Minister Zahid Hamid said that the cabinet meeting had taken a strong notice of the matter. He said that the Cabinet had entrusted responsibility to him to ensure legal action. He said he also contacted the DG IB who described the report as false and forged. Meanwhile, Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb said the DG IB has also lodged a complaint with PEMRA on the fabricated report. She said the findings of the PEMRA on the matter will be brought before the House and made public.
