Rift in Afghan Taliban: Mullah Zakir, Mullah Dadullah refuse to accept Mullah Akhtar Mansoor as ameer

PESHAWAR (92 News) – Mullah Zakir and Mullah Dadullah have refused to accept Mullah Akhtar Mansoor as Afghan Taliban ameer, accusing him ordering the murder of Mullah Omar. In an open letter to their warriors, both the commanders ordered each provincial council to continue Jihad till selection of a unanimous ameer. They have asked their warriors to remain aloof from Mullah Akhtar Mansoor. They alleged that Mullah Akhtar Mansoor continued to take Mullah Omar hostage and later murdered him. They held Mullah Akhtar Mansoor and his foreign aides responsible for the murder of Mullah Omar. However, independent sources could not confirm the claims of both commanders. On the other hand, Afghan forces launched an attack on the last pocket of Mullah Omar and claimed to have killed over 50 Taliban.
