MANGLA (92 News) – The River Jhelum is in low flood at Mangla, discharging 100,000 cusecs of water. The water was discharged in the river after the dam filled. The flow of water has increased significantly at Marala, Khanki and Qadirabad. The authorities have directed the people residing along the River Jhelum to shift to safer places. According to the Met Office, high flood is expected at Mangla in next two days. Heavy rains are expected in different areas of the country during the next 48 hours. It said that a high flood is likely in the River Chenab at Marala, Khanki and Qadirabad. However, the rain spell is likely to subside in the next 48 hours. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has directed all relevant departments to be ready for an emergency situation.
