ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The government has allocated Rs 1675 billion for federal development budget for the Fiscal Year 2016-17. As many Rs 800 billion have been allocated for federal development budget and Rs 875 billion have been allocated for provinces. According the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) documents received by the 92 News, the government has allocated highest development budget for Roads, Water and Energy projects. An amount of Rs 488 billion have been fixed for construction of roads, while Rs 130 billion have been assigned for Water and Power Division. As many as Rs 12 billon Port and shipping, Rs 21 billion for Higher Education, Rs 25 billion have been allocated for Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Division. A sum of Rs 1 billion has been allocated for climate change impacts and to improve the environment, while Rs 193 billion has been allocated for construction of Motorways, Highways, Bridges and Road from Gilgit-Baltistan to Balochistan and Rs 655 billion has been apportioned for the construction of houses. A total of Rs 27 billion has been allocated for nuclear energy projects, while Rs 14 billion to purchase the land for Dia-Mir Bhasha Dam and Rs 18 billion for the construction of the Dam have been allocated.
