Rs465.528 billion Balochistan budget presented amid opposition protest

QUETTA (92 News) – Finance Minister Zahoor Ahmed Buledi presented the budget in Balochistan Assembly for the fiscal year 2020-21, with a total outlay of Rs465.528 billion. With the start of the budget session on Saturday, the opposition members chanted slogans and staged a walkout. Presenting the budget, Buledi said that Rs309 billion has been allocated for non-developmental expenditures while more than Rs156 billion has been allocated for developmental expenditures. “A deficit of Rs87 billion has been shown in the budget. Over Rs63.5 billion has been allocated for uplift of education sector,” he stated. He said that an amount of Rs38 billion has been allocated for the health sector to provide modern health facilities to the poor masses.
