RTS didn’t fail in general elections: NADRA report
September 10, 2018
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The RTS had not failed in the general elections, said an initial report prepared by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) on Monday. The report has been sent to the Election Commission of Pakistan. It stated that the results were delayed due to difficulties faced by the staffers in the use of software. The report said that the pressure of unofficial and unconfirmed results before 2am on the night of the election was another reason of the problems. It said that the RTS was working perfectly on July 25 and it received the results from 6pm to 4pm on July 27. “The NADRA had prepared the RTS backup of international standard. Only presiding and assistant presiding officers had the power to feed the data,” it said. The report further said that unavailability of 3G Internet was a hurdle in dispatching the result form. It pointed out that several presiding and assistant presiding officers did not have knowledge of smart phones. Moreover, RST had no relation to direct or indirect compilation of the results of any constituency. “There was no similarity between the Result Transmission System and Result Management System,” it concluded.
