Rumours go round about Shaukat Tarin's absence from federal cabinet meeting

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Rumours went round among the members about absence of Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin from a meeting of the federal cabinet on Tuesday.

According to the inside story of the federal cabinet, members had prepared questions for the finance minister who did not attend the meeting. A senior minister was carrying a list of questions to be put to the finance minister.

On the day of the mini-budget, Defence Minister Shaukat Tarin had expressed his reservations about Shaukat Tarin.

During the meeting, the members also expressed their reservations about unavailability of Urea. Senior ministers also apprised Prime Minister Imran Khan about the shortage of Urea in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan summoned a meeting over Urea crisis on Wednesday. During the meeting, MQM's Aminul Haq also registered his protest over loadshedding of gas in Karachi.

On the other hand, Federal Minister Asad Omar gave a detailed briefing to the cabinet on the spread of OMICRON Variant in the country. A discussion on Special Technology Zones in cabinet was held. The cabinet was informed that establishment of special technology zones is successfully providing employment and increasing the country's IT exports.

The cabinet discussed the importance of effective legislation in the National Assembly and further strengthening the role of Parliament in the development of the country. It directed the government members and federal ministers to ensure their attendance in Parliament. The cabinet had a discussion on the State Bank Amendment Bill. The cabinet issued directions to the CDA to implement the decision of the Islamabad High Court regarding the National Park Areas until the appeal court changes the decision.
