ISLAMABAD (92 News) - PPP leader Yousaf Raza Gillani has said that there are only their party members, who had demanded protection, in the Sindh House and they had deployed police for this purpose.

Talking to the media on Thursday, he said: “Our respected members were attacked at night, protest happened and everything came back.”

Yousaf Raza Gilani said that the majority party will be asked to bring its prime minister after sending the prime minister home.

“The government is toppled after departure of the prime minister, not the Senate chairman. That is why, we are not showing no-confidence against the Senate chairman. This voting will not be through secret balloting. Voting will be in front of everyone. Therefore, there is no question of abduction,” he maintained.

He said that they have fought a long battle for the constitution. “I was removed by the judiciary. I was not removed by no-confidence motion. We respect the judiciary even today. After the no-confidence motion, all PDM parties will decide the next strategy. The people who are voting the opposition are not doing so because of us. They are annoyed by the government policies,” he added.

The PPP leader said that role of speaker is custodian of the House. “The speaker is not the custodian of the government. At the time both speakers are doing campaign which is not their role,” he concluded.
