Sahibzada Jahangir refuses to take charge as PM’s special assistant

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Sahibzada Amir Jahangir, close aide of Prime Minister Imran Khan, has refused to take the charge as the prime minister’s special assistant on foreign investment. According to the sources, Amir Jahangir withdrew from his post after was maligned in allegations on the social media. He was recently appointed Special Assistant on Foreign Investments, has withdrawn from the assignment. “I am honoured for PM PAK trust in me as SAPM for Foreign Investments. It is honorary assignment. I would take no salary or benefits. However, in view of fake allegations & media propaganda to malign my character & dignity, it will effect my performance, Shaibzada Amir Jhangir said, in his tweet.   He also tweeted, saying, “To work to attract foreign investments. I cannot permit any controversy & or problems for my Prime Minister, therefore I have decided to voluntarily withdraw from the assignment. Though in my private capacity I will continue to bring foreign investments to Pak.”   Jahangir was appointed Special Assistant on Foreign Investments in a notification issued by the cabinet division on October 15. According to the notification, his term had begun from October 11.
