Salman Taseer case: Mumtaz Qadri challenges death sentence in SC

ISLAMABAD – Mumtaz Qadri has challenged his death sentence in the Supreme Court on Monday. LHC former chief justice Khawaja Sharif, in the petition, contended that the Islamabad High Court’s verdict is against the law and the constitution. He said that the matter does not pertain to murder but provocation and the convict should be awarded minimum punishment under section 302C of the PPC after quashing the death sentence.
