SAPM Dr Waqar Masood resigns due to differences with PM's economic team

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Dr Waqar Masood resigned on Tuesday.

According to sources, he tendered his resignation due to differences with the PM's economic team.

Dr Waqar Masood had informed the prime minister about his differences. "A majority of differences developed due to disharmony between the FBR and relevant departments," they added.

The sources said that the prime minister had expressed his reservations about changes in the budget steps.

"Dr Waqar Masood had reservations about the steps taken to stabilize the foreign reserves. He had also expressed his reservations about the tax administration and reforms," they added.
