Sara Inam's killer Shahnawaz Ameer handed down death penalty in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - District and Sessions Judge Nasir Javed Rana awarded death sentence to the accused in the Sara Inam murder case on Thursday.

The court acquitted Samina Shah, co-accused and mother of the accused, giving her the benefit of doubt. Shahnawaz Ameer had killed Sara Inam in Islamabad on September 23, 2022. The court also fined him Rs one million to be paid to the relatives of the deceased. 

Talking to the media outside court, Sara Inam's parents said that three people – Sara Inam, Shahnawaz Ameer and Samina Shah – were present in the house when the incident occurred.

They said that the accused's mother should also be awarded sentence.
