ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousaf has said that elderly intending pilgrims have been exempted from balloting.

Speaking on the balloting of Hajj application under the government scheme on Friday, he said that all successful intending pilgrims will have to submit their passports by May 10.

He said that successful applicants will be informed through SMS today.

The minister said that 107,526 pilgrims will perform Hajj under the government scheme. “As many as 87,419 pilgrims will perform Hajj if the Sindh High Court gave verdict in favor of 50 percent quota,” he maintained.

He said that 179,210 Pakistanis will perform Hajj this year.

Sardar Yousaf said that 197 applicants over 90 years have been exempted from balloting.
