Sartaj Aziz says ICJ cannot annul Kulbhushan’s death sentence

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Adviser to PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that Indian spy Kulbhushan Jhadav has been punished as per the law and the constitution.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, he said that they will now go to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) with a strong team in the next hearing. “The ICJ cannot stay death sentence in a country having the law to hang criminals. The ICJ order is interim one. It did not rule on the consular access to the Indian spy,” he said.

The adviser said that the ICJ cannot annul the death sentence of Kulbhushan Jhadav. “India moved the ICJ to conceal the wrongdoings of Kulbhushan. Khawar Qureshi was sent to the ICJ unanimously and he gave elaborate arguments. We will have an opportunity to raise the issue of Indian interference in the ICJ,” he maintained.

He said that the appointment of an ad hoc judge was not possible in five days.

Sartaj Aziz said that they have all evidences about Kulbhushan Jadhav. “Indian state actors are involved in terrorism in Pakistan,” he maintained.

He said that India had committed a mistake by moving to the ICJ. “Jandal’s visit to Pakistan was personal and not related to Kulbhushan,” he said.
