Sartaj Aziz to express concern at security of embassy officials

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister’s Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has on Friday reached Afghanistan where he will attend the 6th Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan will also have meetings with Afghanistan leadership.

During his weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Friday, Foreign Office Spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said that matters of bilateral interest and concerns will be discussed in the meetings.

Qazi Khalilullah said that during the meeting, the Adviser will also raise concerns relating to security of its embassy’s officials in the prevailing charged anti-Pakistan atmosphere in Afghanistan.

He said that Pakistan is committed to promoting peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan for the best interest of the two countries as well as the region.

He said that the adviser will convey that it is committed to maintaining friendly, brotherly and good neighbourly relations with Afghanistan.

The Spokesman said that Pakistan has so far spent US$1.9 billion on Operation Zarb-e-Azb and return of Temporary Displaced Persons which.

He said that a scheduled meeting between Director Generals of Pakistan Rangers and Indian Border Security Force will be held this month.
