Saudi Crown Prince receives warm welcome on historic trip to Pakistan
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A historic moment as His Highness, the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Bin Salman is received by Prime Minister Imran Khan on his arrival at Nur Khan Air Base.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived in Pakistan on a two-day historic visit on the invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, Prime Minister Imran Khan among his cabinet received the crown prince at Noor Khan Airbase.
A welcome ceremony was held at the Prime Minister's House upon arrival Saudi crown prince.
The Saudi Crown prince was presented by the guard of honour by the troops of jointly forces. During the ceremony, the crown prince introduced his high-powered delegation with Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The Saudi crown prince was warmly welcomed in airspace of Pakistan and a formation of JF-17 Thunder and F-16 fighter jets escorted the jet of the crown prince when it entered the airspace of Pakistan. The security of the Saudi Crown Prince took care by Triple-1 Brigade.
The Saudi crown prince accompanied by a high-powered delegation, including members of Saudi Royal family, key ministers and leading businessmen. The Saudi ministers accompanying the crown prince will meet their counterparts to discuss bilateral cooperation in their respective fields.
It is worth mentioning here that this will be the first state-level visit of the dignitary to Pakistan since his elevation to the position of the Crown Prince in April 2017.
Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa personally reached at Noor Khan Airbase to receive the special guest of Pakistan before his arrival.
PM Imran Khan was also present at the airbase for receiving the nation guest of the country on his historic and first visit.
In the first plane before arrival of the Saudi prince, Saudi Minister for Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir landed in Islamabad at Noor Khan Airbase.
The Saudi foreign minister was received by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi. Ten aeroplanes carrying Saudi dignitaries have arrived at the Noor Khan Airbase.
The teams who arrived before the prince includes an advance team who took care of the security arrangements at the airbase and a group of his personal doctors.
Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry took his twitter and said that the Saudi crown prince was warmly welcomed in the airspace of Pakistan. Pakistan Air Force comprising of
F-16 and JF-17 thunder fighter jets escorted the plane of Mohammed bin Salman.
Meanwhile, Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman will be given a 21-gun salute and a guard of honour.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi has expressed the confidence that visit of Muhammad Bin Salman will add a new chapter to bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Talking to the journalists at Noor Khan Air Base, earlier arrival of crown prince, he said this visit will help strengthen economic partnership between the countries. He said relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have always been cordial and exemplary.
Earlier, arrangements for the royal guest were finalized during a meeting presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan. The meeting also approved agreements to be signed with Saudi Arabia.
All government offices will remain closed on Monday. The government has rescheduled the National Assembly session for Tuesday or Wednesday. The Parliamentary Affairs Ministry has sent a summary to Prime Minister Imran Khan in this regard.
The army, Rangers and police will all be handling security on Sunday and Monday. There will be strict checks at entry and exit points in the city and check posts have been set up on main roads. The Red Zone will be completely sealed and a separate traffic plan has been issued for the joint cities.
Pillion riding has been banned in Islamabad’s Red Zone, Murree Road (Faizabad to Bhara Kahu), Express Highway, Blue Area and Kashmir Highway (Zero Point to Dhokri Chowk) for two days (February 17 and 18).
The crown prince’s portraits have been hung on the Parliament building. The portraits measure 120 feet by 45 feet.

Pakistan rolled out red carpet for the red carpet for Mohammed Bin Salman. Red carpet presented at the Noor Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, where the prince’s plane arrived. The carpeted stairs were transported to the airbase from the Islamabad Airport.
