Saudi envoy hails steps taken by Pakistan to check spread of COVID-19

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan has reaffirmed that Pakistan's commitment to further promote and strengthen bilateral relations with Saudi Arabia.

He was talking to Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki who called on him in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The Minister said Pakistan will operate two flights per week to Saudi city of Abha. He said this will further strengthen bilateral relations and promote tourism between the two countries.

Ghulam Sarwar Khan also termed the restoration of ties between Saudi Arabia and Qatar as a positive development for regional peace and security.

The Saudi envoy hailed the steps taken by Pakistan to check the spread of COVID-19.

Govt focusing on energy projects: Energy Minister

Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan says the government is focusing on energy projects under new renewable energy policy to harness local resources for power generation.

Talking to Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmed Al-Malki, he said revival of exploration and production activities in oil and gas sector would attract investment in the country.

The minister also apprised the envoy about the progress of various energy projects in lieu of investment-friendly policies introduced by current government in diverse fields for thriving economic development of Pakistan.

He said the diversified market of energy sector is one of the prime investment destination to boost the economic growth of the country.

The envoy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stressed that the kingdom would continue to work with Pakistan for strengthening bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.

During the meeting, both sides deliberated upon joint ventures by Pakistan and the Kingdom in the petroleum and energy sector.
