SC acquits three convicts serving life term after eight years

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan acquitted three convicts serving life term after eight years on Tuesday. Naseer Ahmed, Mazhar Hussain and Asad Ali were arrested on the charge of kidnapping Muhammad Siddique. The court ordered to release the convicts. Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa remarked that the abductee did not join the investigation even being recovered after six months. “The witnesses should not seek justice if they are fearful,” he remarked. He remarked that the abductee was not recovered through the police. Meanwhile, the CJP also took notice of threatening calls to the relatives of social activist Perveen Rehman and Orangi Project Director Anwar Arshad. The court ordered the federal and provincial government to trace the callers making the threatening calls. Justice Azmat Saeed remarked that the caller probably a Pakistani might have used a foreign mobile phone. On the other hand, the SC also ordered to release Fida Hussain, a resident of Dera Ghazi Khan, convicted in a murder case. The LHC has already nullify the sentence of two co-accused.
