ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court of Pakistan adjourned the reserved seats case until July 1.

Hearing the case, Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa remarked that the PTI had been punished for not conducting the intra-party elections. “The symbol of bat has not been awarded to anyone. There is no treatment for the wrong interpretation of the verdict,” he observed.

Justice Mansoor Ali Shah questioned that when the ECP announced the decision on the election symbol and status of the candidates.

Justice Ayesha Malik inquired why the ECP had not accepted the affiliation of the candidates with the party.

“It has been inquired thrice, but no reply has been given. The ECP counsel said that the party did not have the symbol. For this reason, it was considered that the candidates cannot be from the party. We accept the interpretation of the court judgment done by the ECP as justified,” she remarked.
