ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday allowed the PTI founder to appear in a case pertaining to nullification of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) amendments through the video link.

The court directed the authorities to make arrangements to ensure presence of the PTI founder through the video link.

During the hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa remarked that the PTI founder could present the arguments if he wanted on the next date.

"The ordinances are issued in the way as if it is their right by birth. The President should pen down the reasons for issuing the ordinances. Can the court summon then president for issuing the ordinance to ascertain whether he was satisfied or not," he observed.

Justice Athar Minallah remarked that the NAB used its powers unchecked. "The NAB has been used for political engineering since day one. The NAB has totally failed over the corruption issue. Bureaucracy was protected while elected representatives were targeted through the NAB. The suicide note by Brig Munir is enough," he observed.

He remarked that about 57,000 cases are pending. "Why are we wasting time in the case? Where will the trial of 25 withdrawn references be held?" he queried.
